We are Mila, Julia and Roos (from left to right) and our subject is spare time.
Roos(group leader): I am 14 years old and my hobbies are badminton and aikido. I practice badminton 3 times a week and aikido once a week. I have a very busy life, because I go running every day as well. My ambition for the future is to get a nice job after I finish studying. I have one sister. I don't have any pets, but I like to walk my neighbours dog every day. The dog's name is Mika.
Julia: I am 15 years old and my hobbies are badminton and dancing. (streetdance). I practice both once a week. My ambition is to finish my school here at Wolfert Pro and continue studying and then have a nice and happy life. I have one sister and we have two hamsters (Coco and Hammie) and two bunnies(Snoesje and Vlekkie).
Mila: I am 14 years old. My hobbies are handball (3-4 times a week) and soccer just for fun. My ambition is to get a nice job after I'm done studying. I have one brother and one sister. We have dog calles Bo, a cat called Kizmo and a bird, called Birdy. (My sister invented that name;-)).

The interviews were not videotaped and no pictures were taken, because of the privacy of the interviewed persons. We descided to type along instead of filming, so we could write down all the answers. Later on, we made a summary about the interviews. (This is a school regulation)

2.3 Outcomes We will start in 1927. That was the year that Mila's great grandmother was born in Rotterdam. She lived with seven people in the house. Her parents were pub owners in Rotterdam. After a few years the second world war begon. Because of that, she didn’t have a lot of spare time. In her spare time she helped her parents at home. Or she went swimming. She also liked sewing. But she didn’t have a lot of time for that. Now, when she looks back she doesn't think she spent her time well. She thinks that she had more spare time when she lives on the country. She didn’t get pocket money. She had to work for it. The parents didn’t have spare time and they didn’t have time for a hobby. She thinks that children nowadays can spend there spare time the way they want to, but that they need to help more at home.
Than we have the grandmother of Julia. She was born in 1941 and she lived in her house with six people. Her father was a notary and her mother was an art teacher. She lived with her parents in Vianen en a few years later she lives in Ouderkerk aan de IJssel and she lived on the country. In 1953 there was a flood that she had experienced. It was her worst event in her life. After the flood in 1953 she had a little bit spare time. In her spare time she did scouting, gymnastics and swimming. She spent the most time of her life outside and she thinks that she spent her spare time well when she was a teenager. In her spare time she was among people with the same background and social background. She had no pocket money to spent when she was young. Her parents had a little spare time when they were younger, but when they had a little spare time they liked to travel and read in books.
Roos' father was born in 1966 and he lived in a house with 10 people. His parents were farmers in Haps. He had 1 hour spare time every day. In his spare time he likes to read or to play chess. He had to help a lot at home. When he looks back he thinks he spend his spare time well. The reason that he didn't have much spare time was because everything was far away from his home. He didn't get pocket money. He didn't have much friends because there weren't many people around. His parents had less spare time then he did. He thinks that children nowadays don't spend their spare time very well because they use too much electronics.
Mila's father was born in 1969. He lived in a house with 5 people. His father was truck driver. He lived in Berkel and Rodenrijs. He remembered the nuclear disaster in Tsjernobyl because there were a lot of casualties. He had a lot of spare time. He used it for soccer and motorcross. He liked to work on his motorcycle. If he looks back now he thinks that he used his spare time very well. He got pocket money and spent it for candy and engine parts. His parents didn't have so much spare time and when they had it they used it to help at home.He thinks that children from now are very lazy and they are spending to much time on there telephones.
The mother of Roos was born in 1968 and she lived in a house with 3 people. Her Mother was care worker and her father was field master. She lived in Delft. She had 2 hours spare time at normal days and in the weekend she had 8 hours spare time. She spent her spare time for scouting, dancing, meeting friends and walking with the dog. Half of there spare time she had to help her parents. She thinks she use there spare time well. She thinks that were she lived had influence on her spare time. She got pocket money and spent it on books or things for her hobbies. Her parents had influence on her spare time because she couldn't do everything. Her parents had less spare time then she had because of the war. She thinks that children nowadays don't spend there spare time very well.
The mother of Julia was born in 1972 and she lived with five people in there house. Her mother was a nurse and her father was a kitchen salesman. She lived with her family in a village on the country. In her spare time she was learning, watching tv, listening to music and calling with friends. She also did on volleyball. In her spare time she spent the most time inside. As teenager she had enough time to help her parents. She think that she spent her time well. She also had a little pocket money to gave out on herself and on her friends. When she was younger she was handle with people with the same background and the social background. She thinks that people now didn’t spent their time well. Because they are doing things on their mobile phone and other stuff. Her parents had not much spare time they were often helping their parents, but when they had a little freetime there doing nice things. Her father liked gymnastics when he was younger and her mother liked to dance.
Part 3: Conclusion: Comparison and reflection
3.1 Comparison As we have a greatgrandmother in our reasearch, we have 4 generations to compare. This made our research even more interesting. 3.2 Answer to the main question
How has the way that teenagers spend their spare time changed? Formerly teenagers helped their parents better and they did more outside now they are very much on their phone and help them in the household.
3.3 Reflection The collaboration went very well, we were able to consult well and everyone has done just about as much. We have a lot of contact with Indian students via social media. This is very nice, because you get to know people from a complete different culture.
